Over 70 paintings by Giacomo Balla were upload by Swpb; List of works by Giacomo Balla. The artist died in 1958. Balla's works will be public domain on 1 January 2029; same in the U.S. unless published prior to 1 January 1923. The uploader contends PD-US-1923, but failed to provide evidence of publication. Non of the image sources claim unambiguously (or at all) that they are free in the U.S. I have reverted several tags to Non-free 2D art as they were originally tagged (these have their own articles): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, but the user has failed to provided a valid rationale for inclusion at Wikipedia. The others do not meet Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. Coldcreation (talk) 07:28, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Happy if you have better pictures: I put it in there years ago as there were no leopard pictures. Duncanogi (talk) 19:41, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User created gallery of four non-free album covers being used in Vaporwave#Origins and characteristics. Each of these album covers is being used for primary identification purposes in the stand-alone articles about their respective albums, and that type of non-free use appears acceptable. The gallery of covers in the Vaporware article, however, does not seem to comply with WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#3a, WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and WP:NFG. While it might be possible to justify the non-free use of one of these album covers as being representative of the type of artwork used for this genre of music, there's no need for a gallery of four. Which of the four should be kept is up for discussion, but "Floral Shoppe album cover.jpg" was the originally the one being used as an example with the others being subsequently added later. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:32, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are two sources cited in support of the type of album cover art used for this genre of music. The first one [1] does make some general mentions of the designs/imagery used on these covers, and does mention the covers of Floral Shoppe and Blank Banshee 0. None of the content in that source, however, goes is too much detail and it seems that simply adding in line links to the album articles should be more than sufficient per WP:NFCC#1 in support of more general content. The other one [2], however, does include a more detailed discussion of the Floral Shoppe cover art, so maybe this is the best candidate for a single representative image if one is really needed. It does seem though that such a discussion of an individual album cover is more appropriate for the stand-alone article about the album itself, while the more general discussion of the cover art style would be better suited for the genre article. In the latter case, links to all of the individual album articles could be added in line as examples of the more general critical commentary, and the reader could see the actual album covers in their stand-alone article per item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:05, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted every one of the cover arts (except Floral Shoppe) to their previous state before this and restored the single cover art featuring Floral Shoppe as it has the best reference for it's cover arts aesthetics (As Marchjuly has pointed out) and until there are references for the other three artworks, it seems best just to leave it to one cover art for now.
